Board of Directors:

Through the leadership of the land trust’s founding member organizations, KMWWN serves the nine Mi’gmaq communities in New Brunswick: Amlamgog (Fort Folly) First Nation, Natoaganeg (Eel Ground) First Nation, Elsipogtog First Nation (Big Cove), Oinpegitjoig (Pabineau) First Nation, Esgenoôpetitj (Burnt Church) First Nation, Tjipõgtõtjg (Buctouche) First Nation, L’nui Menikuk (Indian Island) First Nation, Ugpi’ganjig (Eel River Bar) First Nation and Metepenagiag.

The Board of Directors are Chief’s from four of these communities. The Board of Directors are responsible to approve all regular business for KMWWN including, land securement projects, funding applications and the hiring of staff and contractors. Legal council and guidance is provided by Derek Simon who Elder Gordon describes as, “ a gift from the Creator”.
